Mission San Buenaventura elevated to minor Basilica
SNDs participated in a procession from the Chumash Hutash Festival Grounds to the Mission for a mass celebrated by Archbishop Gomez. Julie Tumamait-Stenslie, Tribal Chair, opened the event with a prayer offered “to all our ancestors to bear witness in our hearts the goodness we are called to live.” Hundred of parishioners and church and civic leaders participated in this historic event.
