2025 Recap and Photo Gallery: 4th Annual SHINE Women’s Summit

On Thursday, November 6, 2025, the Sisters of Notre Dame hosted the fourth annual SHINE Women’s Summit at The Premier in Toledo, OH. The evening brought together over 450 women – and a few supportive men – across all faiths, ages and backgrounds to live out what it means to SHINE – Support, Honor, Inspire, Nurture and Empower.

This year’s theme, The Power of Creativity, highlighted the transformative ways women shape the world through art, innovation and imagination. The program featured a captivating keynote conversation between Chrys Peterson, longtime Toledo broadcaster, and actress, director, writer and producer Katie Holmes.

Guests also enjoyed a dynamic panel discussion with Sister Melannie Svoboda, SND, Dr. Jennifer McCary and Natalie Gray, who all shared how creativity influences their work and enriches communities.

A highlight of the evening was honoring the 2025 Women Who SHINE: Robin Ballmer, Brenda Singletary, Tisha Mays, Regina Jankowski and Karen Medina. These remarkable women exemplify the SHINE pillars through their leadership and commitment to serving others.

“For the Sisters of Notre Dame, creativity is more than art—it’s a way of responding to the needs of the times with imagination and hope. When women embrace their creative power, they become catalysts for transformation in families, communities and the world,” Sister Carol Gregory, SND, said of this year’s event and theme choice.

Prior to the speakers’ program, guests enjoyed an art show with works created by sisters and students and visited the Nonprofit Expo which showcased the ministries of 18 organizations whose work aligns with the mission of the Sisters of Notre Dame.

Proceeds from the SHINE Women’s Summit will help fund the ministries of the Sisters of Notre Dame.

Together, we all SHINE brighter!
