Lenten Service as SNDs

As a community, the SNDs around the country turned their attention to low-income families, women and children, and those facing housing insecurity. The sisters participated with the girls at La Reina to provide hygiene products and socks and underwear for those in need in Thousand Oaks. After collecting items at La Reina and at Notre Dame Center, Sisters and students put together care packages to be distributed by Harbor House, a ministry serving the homeless in our neighborhood.

In addition, the Sisters at Providence House in Long Beach also prepared angel bags for the homeless. The SNDs in Long Beach encounter many homeless persons as they go about their daily routines. Each Sister now has these angel bags in their car to share with people in need. Their bags include fast food gift cards, a wash cloth, water, snacks and personal hygiene products.
