At the 2025 Chardon Partners in Mission Event, we celebrated the development and transformation of an idea that began 175 years ago in Coesfeld, Germany when two women, both teachers, felt called to care for the poor and orphaned children in their small town. As the religious community they founded expanded into new mission fields, their charism and spirit attracted lay partners who have an integral role in numerous ministries focused on education and social services for those in need.
At the event, we recognized two mission partners who have shared their time, talent or treasure to support SND ministries within the United States and abroad:
Bruce Jarosz
We honor a long-time donor and volunteer who has shared his professional skills with SND-sponsored institutions in the United States, helping them develop effective boards and leadership teams with fiscal oversight to plan for their institutions’ futures as times or circumstances change.
Conrad N. Hilton Fund for Sisters
Secondly, we recognized a significant international foundation partner whose gifts are providing funding for important infrastructure improvements necessary to expand SND mission growth in the countries of Eastern Africa. The award was accepted by Executive Director Sister Gina Marie Blunck SND, on behalf of the Fund.
