Consecration

I will take my life and build with Thee a Cathedral of Praise, pleasing unto Thee. It shall be built with wisdom, the wisdom of Your Holy Will.
O Great Architect of the World, teach me to follow Your blueprint for my life. Many are the diversified spires of self-love, self-glory that are seeking a place to tower on this cathedral. Grant me the humility to weld, unite and melt them, to dedicate and so to consecrate them into one grand, majestic spire of Your glory.
I will go unto the altar of God of the daily life of daily sacrifices. Let me take my difficulties and offer them with Thee, then consecrate these raw materials of holiness to Thee. Then, putting aside myself, let me offer to share the sweet Communion of Thy Presence.
Let my cathedral peal forth the grandest music, the beauty, nobility of joy, through the seeking, the finding and the serving of You in the lives of others. Fill it, O Lord, with the fragrance of Your presence and the incense of prayer. Be to me a tremendous sea of strength in the moments of my weakness and grant me Thy saving grace.
And so, I bring to Thee, O Father, these “builder hands,” empty, save for the offering of past weakness to be consecrated to Thee. Empty and Open Longing, to be filled only by Thee.
