St. Rose of Lima, Simi Valley celebrates 100 years

The Sisters of Notre Dame in California congratulate St. Rose of Lima on its 100-year anniversary as a parish. In addition to serving as catechists in the Religious Education program over the years, Sisters of Notre Dame opened St. Rose of Lima School in 1964. Sr. Kathleen Burns and Sr. Colette Theobald both claim St. Rose of Lima as their home parish.

The centennial mass was celebrated outdoors by Archbishop Jose Gomez, and concelebrated by Bishop Robert Barron and various priests connected with the parish over the years. The Sisters of Notre Dame participated in the entrance procession as well as the offertory. The special entrance procession also acknowledged the 47 different countries represented within the parish. The SNDs in California are grateful for the many opportunities to collaborate with this vibrant parish over the last 60 years.
