“Blessed, Broken and Shared” was the theme for the Notre Dame Academy two day junior retreat. The Regals enjoyed time of friendship, fellowship, and Eucharistic adoration at Mater Dolores retreat center and then spent time volunteering at the LA Regional Food Bank.

As we enter November, a cherished season of Thanksgiving, the Sisters of Notre Dame offer our profound and heartfelt gratitude to each of you. You are our partners in mission through your encouragement, prayer, and generosity. As stated in Article 3 of our Constitutions, “Impelled by a missionary spirit, we respond to the needs of the times and share God’s compassionate love with people of all faiths and cultures, particularly those who are poor and marginalized.” May you always feel God’s blessings as you share this mission with us!

SND Associate Prudiel Libatique honored by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles

California Associate Prudiel Libatique received an Excellence in Catechetical Service Award from the Office of Religious Education of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. He serves as the coordinator of RCIA for St. Peter Claver Parish in Simi Valley. Those who nominated Prudiel noted that he “goes way above and beyond to accompany those on their journey of faith to becoming fully initiated Catholics. Prudiel is also working to bring ALPHA to our parish. He is a Virtus Workshop Presenter as well. He continues to attend workshops and seminars, paying for himself and using his vacation time…he is a faith-filled, kind, committed person leading others to Christ.”

Entrusted With Your Stories

“I am privileged to be trusted with your stories, your joys, and your sorrows, and to journey together, encountering Jesus and doing our best to be his disciples,” Runyon said at the Mass.

She also called the moment “an affirmation for the call to the laity, to all of us, by a baptismal call, to love God, know God, and serve God.”

Saturday, October 1, is a day of celebration for the Sisters of Notre Dame since it marks the 172nd anniversary of our founding in Coesfeld, Germany. Hilligonde Wolbring and Lisette Kuhling heard the call to a life of consecration. Today, that vision and passion are touching lives in 17 countries around the world. Little did they know the long-term impact of that vision and passion!

Unique Sabbatical Experiences!

At the invitation of Sr. Kristin Battles, superior general, Sr. Leanne Hubbard is spending August and September with SNDs in East Africa. Her first stop was in Arusha, where she has taught a 9-day course on Ignatian Spirituality, the history of religious life, and spiritual discernment to the 18 novices that come from Tanzania, Uganda, and Kenya.
